He was there..

She was both excited and nervous,
For the wedding was just a day away.
Her gown lay in glory, her heart danced around,
And her feet barely touched the ground.
Her eyes saw only the future ahead,
And not the danger that awaited her, alas!
That day she met with an accident.
For three weeks she lay still, in the hospital bed.
Awaiting her Love to come, and vanish away all dread.
She lost all her fingers to that accident,
Deep scars adorned her skin.
But did that scare him away?
No.
When the moment came,
He slipped the wedding ring on her toe.
That night, he caressed her wounds too.

      1. I believe they exist in reality as well. It’s just quite the mission to find them. I think many of us just end up giving up before we find that wonderful man who will love us unconditionally. Yes, it’s so lovely to catch up with you again! You always manage to put a smile on my face or move me in some way. πŸ™‚

          1. I will certainly let you know! I am sure you will deserve quite a bit of the credit when I find him considering you wrote the poem about such a special man. I will make sure to keep him close too. πŸ˜€ It’s only a pleasure! πŸ™‚

  1. What happened next in the fairly tale?
Did it all flourish or did they somehow fail
Would love to read if it was colorful or somewhat pale
Did they manage to beat the thunder and blissfully sail!

    1. A most inquisitive question!
I’d say their fate depends on The Artist’s humor. If it’s in a melancholic disposition, the tempest shall swallow them or so shall I device. But who knows maybe their sails come rising, beating the unbeatable, if only the melancholy is usurped by a more potent force of love.
But to humble my curiosity, do you always speak in verse, Mister?
